A Word From “Coach Fran” to Rising High School Seniors

This is it, your final year in high school, and if you’re reading this article, chances are you have done quite well and are now planning your transition to college.  Congratulations!  

Although these are exciting times, the anticipation of change is most likely, creating some tension and concern. Change can feel uncertain and risky because our brain may interpret change as a threat.  This is normal. 

A smooth transition from high school to college takes planning and preparation.  There are skills, strategies, and techniques you can learn to set yourself up for success, and now is the time to start learning how to tap into your infinite potential with those tools that will guide you to success and well-being in college and beyond.  

Creating a go-to toolbox of strategies to help you manage and master life away from home will create calm and confidence as you move through the college transition process.  As with any journey, the better prepared you are, the more successful the journey!  Prepare yourself for life’s journey to college and beyond by learning how to manage your stressors to develop resilience, connect to your potential by living through your strengths, create a vision that motivates you to achieve your goals, overcome roadblocks to growth and achievement, master your day by creating keystone habits, and create a fulfilling, successful, healthy life. 

Connect to the best of who you are as a high school senior and move forward knowing that you are as prepared as you possibly can be to enter that new chapter of your life.
